Adani Enterprises Limited, an integrated business conglomerate, and EdgeConneX, a leading-edge data center provider, have recently announced a 50/50 joint venture deal. This data center company operates 50 facilities across 30 markets worldwide.
The recent joint venture is aimed at forming AdaniConneX, which will reportedly operate and develop data centers in India. Apart from these full-scale data centers, the platform will also build a portfolio of edge data centers across the globe. This portfolio will be designed and scaled as per the rising demand to emerge as the full-scale data center campuses.
Adani Enterprises Limited has reportedly cited that the data centers from the new pan-Indian platform will be extensively powered by clean or renewable energy. As per authentic reports, the JV has also been entered with an objective to develop a network of hyper-scale data centers across the country, initially in Chennai, Navi Mumbai, Vizag, Noida, and Hyderabad markets. The two companies have already started the development and construction process at these locations.
According to Adani Group’s Chairman, Gautam Adani, India represents one of the largest data subscriber populations in the world. Due to this high subscriber base, the nation lends a prime focus on addressing the need for reliable infrastructures to support AI, 5G, IoT, Network, Content, Cloud, and enterprise requirements, which can be significantly fulfilled via the development of data centers.
Mr. Gautam further added that the company is capable of bringing a unique combination of green power, access to the undersea cable landing stations, real estate expertise, and several nodes in the country to serve as the edge locations. The team at Adani appreciates the domain expertise as well as the cutting-edge technology in EdgeConneX’s data center business. Through the JV, it will leverage the technology and expertise to build a network of data centers in the region.
