Nexteer Automotive recently unveiled that it will soon be opening a ‘Software Centre’ in India to further strengthen its stance in the regional automotive & transportation industry. If reports are to be believed, the plan to open a new software center will be the newest addition to the company’s international software team that is currently operating in the United States (Saginaw), Poland (Tychy), and China (Suzhou).
The new facility which the company has decided to open in the Indian market will be focusing on downstream software validation and production that will ensure quality & compliance with regulations, cite reliable sources. Nexteer’s Global Technical Center operating from Saginaw in tandem with the other two regional Centers in Suzhou and Tychy will continue to focus on the upstream software development and research & development innovation.
Geoff Krieger, the Executive Director of Electronic Systems & Software, Nexteer Automotive revealed in a statement that the company’s software business model and its enhanced global team is constantly targeting on delivering innovative solutions. These solutions, he further added, are endowed with flexibility, speed, and seamless vehicle integration for the company’s OEM customers in the global automotive & transportation industry. He also elaborated the vital role that software plays in automotive vehicles, particularly in safety-critical steering that is progressing at a remarkable pace, in turn accelerating Nexteer’s smart software solutions sales.
For the record, Nexteer’s software solutions play a crucial safety role in its range of products such as EPS (Electric Power Steering Systems) and Steer-by-Wire (SbW) and are touted as the key gateway technologies in the automotive and transportation industry for automated driving and safety functions.
The company further reports that it is scouting locations in India to start its new Software Centre and will also be investing in other software capabilities over the ensuing years. Nexteer is also pretty confident of its electronics and software capabilities as its key differentiators and expects the demand for its solution to rise exponentially in the global automotive market.
