Rackspace Technology launches new AWS Middle East Region for the UAE market

Rackspace Technology, the cloud computing services pioneer, has reportedly introduced the AWS Middle East (UAE) Region, which will aid the acceleration of digital transformation and innovation in the UAE (United Arab Emirates).

The new AWS Middle East (UAE) Region which comprises three AZs (Availability Zones) has become the AWS’s second region in the Middle East, with the prevailing AWS Region introduced in 2019, in Bahrain.

Apparently, the novel AWS Region will offer organizations a greater choice for running their applications and serving end users from data centers in the UAE, using groundbreaking AWS technologies to push innovations.

For the unversed, Rackspace Technology is one of the Premier Consulting Partners for AWS with 1,800+ AWS cloud certifications worldwide.

It holds a strong AWS presence in the Middle East with an impressive roster of customers, including BFC Group, which specializes in global money transfers, foreign currency exchange and wholesale currency services.

It has also aided in migrating its core application and supporting systems to AWS public cloud whilst providing consultancy and ongoing management services.

Speaking on the latest move, George Pawlyszyn, General Manager for the Middle East and Africa at Rackspace Technology, stated that being a Premier Consulting Partner, the firm is delighted to support the unveiling of AWS’s second Middle Eastern region.

According to Pawlyszyn, the firm is growing quickly throughout the Middle East, and this is a crucial step as it enables clients’ success with this important and new option.

Reportedly, AWS Regions comprise Availability Zones that place infrastructure in distinct and separate geographic locations.

The distance between Availability Zones supports customers’ business continuity while keeping them close enough to offer minimal latency for high availability applications that utilize several Availability Zones.

For the record, Availability Zones are placed far enough from each other to support continuity to the customers’ business but near enough to provide low latency for high availability applications that use multiple Availability Zones.

Furthermore, this new launch of AWS Middle East (UAE) Region will empower the local customers with data residency requirements to store the data securely in the UAE.
