Jio World Drive (JWD), the premium retail mall of Reliance Industries, has reportedly planned to launch Jio Drive-In, the first rooftop, open-air theatre in Mumbai at the Bandra Kurla Complex. This announcement comes as JWD launches a variety of ingenious concepts in F&B, entertainment, culture, retail, and art, many of which are first in the country.
Jio Drive-In will be operated by PVR Cinemas and will accommodate around 290 cars. It will have the biggest cinema screen in Mumbai and is set to open on November 5.
Isha Ambani, the Director of Reliance Retail stated that JWD brings the best experiences of entertainment and retail from around the globe to Mumbai, as modern-day customers consider shopping a fun-filled, explorative, and enriching experience.
In addition to the theatre, JWD will also be launching The Bay Club, the most exclusive private members club in Mumbai. The club aims to offer the finest services in the town with advanced athletic and sports facilities.
Reliance Industries stated that JWD is transforming the city’s culinary landscape by creating a blend of F&B concepts in collaboration with some of the most popular culinary experts of India. See Saw, another F&B first, will be executed in collaboration with innovative chef Aditi Dugar. It offers an environment favorable for pets where humans and their pets can enjoy healthy, delicious foods from across the globe.
Going beyond entertainment, F&B, and retail; JWD also aims to explore art. Renowned artists, both Indian and international, have placed their exquisite art installations across JWD with an aim of bringing it to a broader audience.
Talking about JWD’s distinct focus on art, Isha Ambani stated that it is crucial to make it more participative and open to discussions. It is also important to create an inclusive space for art to increase its accessibility, especially among the youth.
For the record, Jio World Drive spans 17.5 acres at Maker Maxity and houses around 72 prominent Indian and international brands and over 27 culinary outlets.
