Royal Enfield to launch new models in domestic & international markets
Royal Enfield, an Indian motorcycle manufacturing company, is reportedly targeting to unveil an array of new models across the domestic and international markets in the current fiscal year. This upcoming launch will consist of a rich pipeline of products that are currently under development and are expected to hit the market over the coming days.
According to Vinod K Dasari, Royal Enfield’s CEO, the company is intending to launch one model every quarter amid the escalating disruptions caused by the coronavirus pandemic. In terms of sales network expansion, it will be a combination of small- and large-sized stores as per the production capacity of the particular region. Additionally, it is placing a major emphasis on expanding the sales network across the international markets, with percentage growth more likely to happen internationally.
Mr. Dasari further added that the rate of the production capacity depends on the prevailing supply chain issues. Despite these escalating supply chain challenges, the Indian motorcycle maker is planning to hit a run rate of over 100,000 units per month. The 1st half of the current fiscal year may however be soft due to the implementation of strict lockdowns across multiple states, he added.
Siddhartha Lal, MD & CEO of Eicher Motors, the parent company of Royal Enfield, has reportedly cited that the subsidiary company is lending a strong focus on developing new models with an objective to gain a competitive advantage over rivals in the global market. He added that the company’s product line is apparently equivalent to offerings from German and Japanese manufacturers.
For the record, Royal Enfield’s current model lineup consists of Bullet, Classic, Himalayan, Continental GT, Interceptor, and Meteor. The company has maintained a significant footprint across all major towns and cities in India and exports products to around 50 countries worldwide, including the UK, the U.S., the Middle East & Southeast Asia, as well as several Latin American and European countries.
